I-65 Widening

The communities along Highway 65 have grown dramatically in recent years.

Roseville, Rocklin, Lincoln, and Loomis have all seen significant development over the last few decades, but Highway 65 remains only two lanes in each direction. With so many more residents relying on such a narrow freeway, congestion on this key corridor gets worse every year.

While developer fees have funded some improvements, it would take decades to fund necessary widening on Highway 65.

South Placer’s communities already collect local and regional developer fees to fund transportation projects. While these fees have already funded key road and interchange projects, it would take decades for them to cover them more than $100 million dollars needed to widen Highway 65.

We need a local funding source to ensure the Highway 65 Widening Project is constructed.

The project would widen Highway 65 to at least three lanes from Lincoln to Interstate 80, with up to five lanes where it’s needed. Once this improvement is funded and complete, Highway 65 can continue to be the backbone of South Placer for decades to come.
